Independent, unofficial guide. Not the official website of any venue listed, and not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any of them.

How we chose — and ordered — the venues on this guide

A plain account of the integration test, the sources we used, and why the North East scope had to widen.

What counts as a casino hotel here

A venue qualifies only if a licensed casino is part of, attached to, or operated in conjunction with the hotel on the same property complex. A hotel that merely sits near an unrelated casino does not qualify.

We checked each candidate against the venue’s official website and at least one independent current source (regulator register, established news, or reference works). Closed, rebranded-away or demolished properties are excluded.

What this means for you

If a listing elsewhere says “hotel near casino”, that is not enough for this guide.

Why the regional list was widened

Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Teesside have licensed casinos (including Genting, Grosvenor and other operators), but we could not verify a currently trading hotel with a casino on the premises. Publishing fewer honest entries — and widening to Great Britain — is safer than inventing local stay-and-play hotels.

Basis for the sequence on the homepage

  • Tightness of hotel–casino integration (same floors / same resort / same campus).
  • Range of surrounding facilities that make an overnight stay practical.
  • How clearly the casino is presented as part of the property offer.

The order is editorial, not an official ranking, and nobody paid for placement.

Photography policy

We only publish photographs with a clear reuse licence (typically Wikimedia Commons CC BY / CC BY-SA / CC0 / public domain). Each image carries visible attribution. We do not scrape hotel marketing galleries or booking platforms. Where a venue’s bedroom or gaming-floor photography is unavailable under those terms, the page says so and relies on exteriors, setting shots and typography instead of mislabelled stock.
